Refreshing the brand identity of a human-centered design company

Smart Design is a strategic design company with over 40 years of history, pioneering the business of design that puts people first. With strong roots in industrial design and product development, their expertise has grown as business challenges become more intertwined with new technologies and multi-channel experiences. A team of designers were tasked to develop a new brand identity that better reflects their values, human centered aproach, and positive personality.

My role included:

  • Collaborating with designers to explore and define brand directions

  • Setting the direction for brand photography and portraits

  • Exploring new illustration styles and developing an index of illustrators

  • Collaborating on website updates, including designing new content templates

  • Collaborating on developing brand guidelines and templates
